In California, a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice, or RDHAP, is a licensed dental professional who works independently of a dentist to deliver preventive dental hygiene care directly to patients where they live. We travel to homes, assisted living facilities, and even offer services to children in schools. Wherever patients need us, we show up.

In my clinical experience, I’ve seen the struggle many times at the dental office from patients managing complicated health conditions to those who are too nervous to relax in the dental chair. These are tough barriers in dentistry and I decided I want to be a part of the solution.
